I wanted to share how amazing our last All Team meeting was this week. I'm the nurse educator at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas (we just opened the first free standing hospice house in this region). We hold all staff meetings and include everyone from cooks to CNAs to nurses and social workers, etc...everyone at Faith to the All Team meeting monthly. We provide updates and education. This month we decided to have a potluck, discuss a few updates and show your video Care for the Caregiver. Never have I seen our team so engaged. Not a single person pulled out their phones, went to the bathroom or looked away. It touched everyone. It spoke to everyone. I had nurses, chaplains, aides, even marketers come up to me and say they heard their name in everything you said. Today a LVN told me she kept hearing you say "Rhonda", a RN said she heard "now Lee take care of you". Words can. It express how powerful this was. Thank you. We would love to have you come to the T Boone Pickens Center for Faith Presbyterian Hospice and speak!! I've been a fan and follower of yours for years. Thank you again for being real and touching on topics that are needed for Hospice.

Christy from Faith Presbyterian Hospice wrote this to me and said I could share it on the website. Christy Samuel, Apr 21, 2017 "last All Team meeting was this week. Michelle shared this on the End of Life and Bereavement Facebook group. Michelle McFetridge Rolniak February 27 at 7:52am Barbara Karnes, wow. I just watched your DVD, "Care for the Caregiver". It made me realize that after 29 years as a RN including 11 of those years working in hospice, that I'm doing a lot of things right, and some things I need to improve for myself. I find this work an honor, privilege and a blessing and at a times actually find joy along the way. Thank you for pointing out things in your DVD that confirm ways to stay healthy in all areas of my life so that I can be at my best for my patients. Thank you also to all of your previous patients who have provided you with the experiences and the knowledge that you so generously share with others. So many families and caregivers and sometimes patients ask me "why am I still here", or "what could possibly be the purpose for all of this"? For your patients who asked you the same questions, it's obvious that their "final act of living" contributed to a legacy provided through your expertise. Thank you. ❤
